We are looking for a Sr. Surety Underwriting Assistant to join our team in Leawood, KS or Sioux Falls, SD offices!
Under the direction of management, the successful candidate will research and create new product records for entry into product database and policy administration systems as well as maintain/update existing product records. Coordination with IT resources will also be required to submit new product and product maintenance tickets, determine delivery schedules, monitor end to end processes and provide status reports of implementation activities to management at required intervals.
A typical day will include the following:
Approves routine risks within pre-determined template underwriting authority.
Assist with the pursuit of information from broker/agents, and miscellaneous administrative duties. This will include, but is not limited to processing of broker/agent licensing, and contract and power of attorney administration.
Assists in gathering and analyzing underwriting data, prescreens underwriting information and assists in underwriting less complex, routine risks.
Responsible for training of less experienced underwriting assistants, delegation of support staff work load, and quality control over support functions within the office. May be required to mentor/supervise less experienced underwriting assistants within region.
Responsible for accurate premium registration and invoicing, coding, pricing and commission calculations of the most complex processing functions. Assists Underwriting Assts. with complex processing transactions, ensuring accuracy within the branch.
Researches and resolves complex premium entry and premium collection problems.
Processes bid and final bond requests within underwriting authority limits established for the account.
Responsible for the preparation of multiple management reports utilizing various company and software programs.
Oversees proper completion of bond forms and compliance with state requirements and maintains account and bond files as directed.
Assists with analyzing, inputting, and balancing financial "work in progress" data and financial statement analysis received from contractors, utilizing computerized underwriting systems.
Responsible for performing technical support functions and coordinating resolutions of technical support problems in the office.
