We are looking for a seasoned underwriter in the Professional Liability space to join our team in Walnut Creek and support our growth in the Northern California market.  
Under limited direction and supervision, underwrites and markets professional liability products through independent agents and wholesale brokers, including E&O, Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Cyber products and provides high levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability.  May provide high level of financial analysis to determine credit quality.

Gathers and analyzes information, applying appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of acceptability of risk. May evaluate credit quality.
Prepares and participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business.
Participates in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, premium collections.
Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits.
May ensure credit quality of accounts managed while maintaining and updating underwriting files.
Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.


Bachelor’s degree; minimum 5 years of related industry/underwriting experience with carrier or broker (E&O, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Cyber preferred); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Strong degree of organization and attention to detail. 
Analytical, results-oriented and possess a high sense of urgency. 
Must have demonstrated marketing and agency development skills/experience.
