Duties
We are looking for a Assistant Underwriter I-CORE to join our team
Summary -
Provides support to Commercial & Specialty lines underwriting units by handling routine underwriting tasks. Calculate premiums, maintain coverage and exposure changes throughout the policy term, within the speed of service and standard operating procedures set forth by the department.
A typical day will include the following:
Processes automatic renewals and/or endorsements for assigned accounts.
Understands key components of common products in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.
Accurately enter all risk and exposure information into underwriting rating system following the company's filed rules, rates and underwriting guidelines to calculate premiums which adequately reflect applicant's exposure all while remaining within given underwriter authority.
Maintain knowledge of underwriting rates, rules and guidelines on assigned programs, products, and geographic regions as well as knowledge on overall company workflow, procedures and products.
Enter endorsement requests into appropriate tracking system. Run daily report to identify new endorsement requests that need reviewed for authority and missing information to log accordingly.
Communicate with agents, brokers and marketing department as appropriate to clarify and correct inconsistent, incorrect or missing information, and conduct follow ups to obtain information necessary to process the Automatic Renewal/Endorsement request.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred.
One to three years of assistant underwriting experience preferred.
Computer proficiency with Windows and office support software
