We are looking for a Sr. Underwriter II to join our Commercial Underwriting team in East Hartford, CT!
Determines acceptability, conditions and pricing of specific property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks and agrees on coverage within regulatory requirements, corporate product offerings and designated authority level.
A typical day will include the following:
Underwrites large, complex property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of loss experience and business conditions of key accounts as well as loss trends and any relevant legal or economic factors regarding the property & casualty business line.
Participates on a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the property & casualty insurance and service needs of large multi-product customers.
Assist in the training and development of coworkers as directed by management.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, priorities and target markets in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.
*While position is open as an Undewriter II, will consider fulfilling opportunity at a Sr. Underwriter level based on experience*
Successful candidates will have the following:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent strongly preferred
Two to five years of commercial lines underwriting experience
CPCU designation a plus
