We are looking for a Assistant Underwriter I to join our team
Provides support to property & casualty (P&C) underwriting units by handling routine rating, endorsements, new business/renewals and other basic underwriting functions.
A typical day will include the following:
Processes (P&C) new business/renewals and endorsements for assigned accounts and handles basic (P&C) underwriting analysis for some routine new and renewal business applications.
Communicates with appropriate colleagues about (P&C) needs, changes or concerns regarding assigned accounts.
Maintains records of property & casualty (P&C) losses, endorsements or other pertinent information on assigned accounts.
Maintain knowledge of underwriting rates, rules and guidelines on assigned programs, products, and geographic regions as well as knowledge on overall company workflow, procedures and products
Understands key components of common products in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.
Accurately enter all risk and exposure information into underwriting rating system following the company's filed rules, rates and underwriting appetite to calculate premiums which adequately reflect applicant's exposure all while remaining within given underwriter authority.
Successful candidates will have the following:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•Strong customer service skills
•Excellent organizational and time management skills
•Results oriented and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency
•Strong PC skills
