Marketing Statement

Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries.   We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of  Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best.

Duties

This position is responsible for brokering out non-PHLY products. There will be extensive interaction with independent insurance Agents, producers and Carriers.  Broad product knowledge of our markets is needed to properly educate agents on why to place the business with our brokerage. Review insurance applications to evaluate, classify and rate applicants for insurance and accept or reject applications within delegated underwriting authority by performing the following duties:

  • Marketing out to existing agency partners and calling on new agent partners is crucial in developing new business submission and building out pipeline.
  • Manage accounts from the time it comes in the door through issuance. Responsible for closing out account properly in both Salesforce and AMS.
  • Utilize salesforce on all new opportunities, by following standard operating procedures outlined by management.
  • Become an AMS Software expert and create AMS software training for future employees.
  • Underwrite and price business according to delegated underwriting authority and guidelines.
  • Be sure to refer accounts outside of underwriting authority to the appropriate manager/underwriter with recommendations. Review and approve changes or questions on coverage or exposures.
  • Communicate with PHLY field representatives and independent agents by following Marketing procedures to obtain further information, quote rates or explain company underwriting policies.
  • Maintain adequate file documentation and justification for all credits and debits (when applicable).
  • Examine such documents as application forms, website, brochures and past claims, financial reports and contracts to determine degree of risk from such factors as financial standing and loss experience.
  • Broker will be responsible for understanding carrier appetites and building relationships with carrier underwriters to ensure speed of service. Have a strong knowledge of individual’s territory and to communicate to the brokerage manager when issues or services need to be escalated.
  • Communicate regularly with the account executives in our efforts to maintain transparency and provide top notch service.
  • Provide detailed weekly “won” account report to brokerage manager and accountant.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
Two plus years related experience and/or training.
Must have Property and casualty producer license.
