Under the general direction of the Compensation Manager, provides a full range of senior level compensation consulting and analysis, and supports the compensation function in the design, development, implementation and on-going management of compensation programs and initiatives.
Researches, collects and analyzes internal and external data for compensation decision making and ensures market competitiveness and compliance with all laws and regulations.
This position works closely with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to support internal/external offers and provide guidance on compensation issues and initiatives.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company’s compensation programs including job evaluation, FLSA determination, market comparisons and job description review
Works on a variety of compensation projects as assigned including program design, analysis, cost analysis, guidelines and procedures
Provides project planning, analysis, direction, communication and ongoing support for the annual review process, including the projection and administration of market based range adjustments, merit increases and annual incentive payments
Participates in annual performance management process
Proactively monitors and analyzes trends and issues related to compensation programs within the Company and external market; performs financial analyses and modeling in order to develop recommendations that support business strategies
Oversees the completion of annual salary surveys
May participate in enterprise-wide HR projects that impact the function, business, or corporation
Provides technical expertise and guidance to compensation analysts; oversees and audits their work
Other duties and/or projects as assigned
In-depth knowledge of compensation theory and concepts including administration of compensation programs including job evaluation, performance management, salary surveys and Federal, State and local laws and regulations regarding compensation
Industry Knowledge – basic knowledge of the insurance industry groups, trends, directions and ability to apply this knowledge to appropriately diverse situations
Analytical skills, high proficiency with Excel modeling & formulas
Attention to detail
Strong analysis/problem-solving abilities
Strong oral and written communication
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field or a combination of education and progressive work experience in HR Compensation required
Progress toward CCP or Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years of advanced professional experience in compensation administration required
Experience with Executive compensation a plus
Expert Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
